IPv6 support has already been implemented for major operating systems and core networking
components. Thus, without proper access control and deep inspection, the IPv6 network may become a
potential security threat. For example, Windows Vista clients use IPv6 addresses by default,
whenever available.
StoneGate IPS 4.3 further extends the intrusion prevention by protecting internal networks
from threats carried by the new IPv6 protocol.
In practice, all the vulnerabilities on top of IPv4 are also valid with IPv6 networks.
