Certified Network Interface Cards
StoneGate Firewall/VPN and IPS engines support Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces on Intel platform. Certified network interface cards have been tested in Stonesoft's certification labs by lab technicians.We strongly recommend using these network interface cards to ensure compatibility with StoneGate software.
Firewall/VPN Certification Requirements
StoneGate Firewall/VPN certification tests include the following parts:- NIC is able to maintain a sustained throughput during a 24-hour stress test period.
- NIC supports detecting the physical link status on the StoneGate Firewall/VPN engine.
- NIC supports VLAN tagging.
- NIC supports enforcing the speed and/or duplex of the interface through the ethtool or mii-tool utilities.
- NIC supports all clustering modes of the StoneGate Firewall/VPN engine.
IPS Certification Requirements
StoneGate IPS certification tests include the following parts:- NIC is able to maintain a sustained throughput during a 24-hour stress test period.,
- NIC is able to operate in promiscuous mode on the StoneGate IPS Sensor engine
- NIC supports detecting the physical link status on the StoneGate IPS engine.
- NIC supports enforcing the speed and/or duplex of the interface through the ethtool or mii-tool utilities.
- NIC supports clustering of the StoneGate IPS Sensor engine.
